Medical students and junior medical doctors of all around Greece founded the Society of “Junior” Doctors in September 2009. The aim of this Society is to promote the knowledge and to educate employees related with Medicine and Health in general, as well as the general population, about the Science of Medicine (epidemiology, preventive medicine, diagnostics and therapeutic challenges).

Aims of the Society of “Junior” Doctors:

I. The promotion of knowledge and science, related with human diseases, by conducting studies and perform research.

II. The promotion of communication and solidarity among the members of the Society and among the members of the Society of “Junior” Doctors with other Societies with related goals.

III. The psychological support of patients suffering from incurable diseases and confrontation of their social exclusion.

IV. To sensitize and inform the general population of all over the world, about the serious and common diseases of the human being and especially about their prevention and therapeutic potentials.

V. The improvement of the relationship between the doctor and the patient.

VI. The scientific improvement of the way that doctors confront with the disease of any kind.

P.S.: “Junior” is not an age-related characteristic of the members of this Society. It depicts the conviction of the members of the Society that the medical doctor should never get old enough and must always be informed about the “new” improvements in Medicine.
