  • ResumeGeorge D. Chloros, MD is an orthopedic surgeon. He is currently a Fellow in Foot and Ankle Surgery, at Allegheny General Hospital (AGH), in Pittsburg, PA, with full PA medical licence (# MD465887). AGH specializes in Complex Foot and Ankle Surgery reconstructions. Dr. Chloros graduated with an MD degree from the University of Liege, School of Medicine in Belgium. He then worked as a research fellow at the Departments of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Athens, School of Medicine in Athens, Greece and Wake Forest University School of Medicine, in Winston-Salem, NC, USA. Dr. Chloros trained as an orthopedic resident at Virginia Commonwealth University Medical Center, in Richmond, VA, USA and then at the Greek Army Veterans Administration Hospital (NIMTS), and returned to the US for his fellowship. Apart from foot and ankle surgery, his surgical interests include general orthopedics, trauma, hip and knee arthroplasty, hand surgery, arthroscopy of the shoulder and knee. He serves as an advisor to the “Orthoheal” orthopedic center in Athens, Greece, where he specializes in orthobiologic treatments (stem cells and platelet-rich-plasma). Dr. Chloros' research work includes more than 55pubmed, peer-reviewed publications, more than a dozen textbook chapters in prestigious orthopedic textbooks, and several international meeting presentations. Dr. Chloros has served as a consultant reviewer in many orthopedic journals. Dr. Chloros has also been a very successful mentor of several medical students and young doctors in their quest of getting into medical residencies in the USA. Several of those individuals have secured very competitive residency positions in the USA in both medical and surgical specialties. He also gave several lectures to 5thyear medical students in Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Athens, School of Medicine, “ATTIKON” University Hospital.
