Dr. Evridiki Patelarou

  • ResumeDr. Evridiki Patelarou has an educational background in medicine and nursing. She holds a Master in Public Health and a PhD in Epidemiology. Her research career began at the Department of Social Medicine, Faculty of Medicine- University of Crete where she was a researcher in a Mother-Child prospective study “The RHEA” study. Her PhD examined the effect of water pollutants, specifically disinfection by-products to pregnancy outcomes. Since then, her research is mainly focused on the evaluation of environmental exposures in the prenatal period and in early childhood and how they correlate with the development of the fetus and the child. Furthermore, she is interested in healthcare research related topics including evidence based practice, healthcare quality and patient safety in the hospital environment. Evridiki is a member of the Editorial Board of the World Journal of Meta- Analysis, and a regular reviewer for a number of peer review journals including the Journal of Pediatric Nursing, the International Nursing Review, the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health, the Journal of Asthma, the Journal of Developmental Origins of Health and Disease, the Journal of Pediatric Biochemistry and the Journal of American College of Nutrition. She is currently a Lecturer at King’s College London.
